What Does The New Public Policy Awareness Hope To Accomplish?

Homeless Services are under-funded in the state of California. The majority of resources for organizations that provide services for the homeless comes from grants and aid from the state government, but there are no checks or balances to ensure that the funding meets the needs of our population.

Never before has a bill been introduced to secure guaranteed funding for homeless services in the state of California. This Public Policy Awareness is something which has been in the planning phase for over a year. To prepare for this, we are working with individuals in the community who have experience in the field of homeless services, because their input is crucial to tailoring Public Policy Awareness that will accurately reflect the reality of homeless services. We are also working with academics, elected officials, homeless persons, voters, unions, civil rights groups, and the police.
